January 29, 2019 – Roberta King Latham and the team at Bennett Guthrie Latham, PLLC, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina are partnering with Cancer Services of the Triad to assist patients in need of a health care power of attorney. Patients who do not yet have a health care power of attorney can call on Bennett Guthrie Latham, PLLC for that service, at no charge.
In clarifying what a health care power of attorney is used for Roberta commented that, “often a health care power of attorney is a document that means a loved one can make end of life decisions on your behalf and it allows you to have the care you deserve and desire even when you can’t express those desires yourself.”
In speaking with Tara O’Brien at Cancer Services, she revealed that Bennett Guthrie Latham will be providing a desperately needed service to an oftentimes underserved community. As O’Brien put it, “Cancer Services of the Triad serves many people at different stages of cancer care. Some of them don’t have the family or resources to name a power of attorney and let the state decide their fate, which is never the best course of action.”
As a cancer survivor herself, Roberta King Latham felt drawn to help the organization in any way that she could. Bennett Guthrie Latham never hesitated to be the team to help the Cancer Services patients with their health care wishes. Commenting on Bennett Guthrie Latham’s mission in partnering with Cancer Services of the Triad, Roberta stated, “it is our hope that anyone undergoing cancer treatments, regardless of the stage of treatment, has access to legal services that can protect and serve their greater good.”
The Bennett Guthrie Latham team is proud to partner with Cancer Services of the Triad for the 2019 calendar year and for many years to come.
